The arrival of a puppy is a joy and also a bit of chaos. Having the basics ready before it arrives makes the first few days much calmer, for both it and you.
1. A place to sleep
First things first. A puppy sleeps many hours and needs a corner of its own, quiet and draft-free. A small bed with sides gives it a sense of shelter. If it's a large breed, keep in mind it will grow fast.
2. Collar and ID tag
An adjustable collar that grows with it, and a tag with your phone number. Remember that in Spain, a microchip is mandatory: your veterinarian will explain it to you during the first visit.
3. Chew toys
Puppies explore with their mouths, especially when they are teething. If they don't have something allowed to chew on, they will choose for themselves: shoes, cables, or chair legs. A rope toy and a sturdy ball are a good start.
4. Food and water bowls
Stable and easy to clean. Water should always be available.
5. Patience and routine
Fixed times for eating, going out, and sleeping help it adapt. The first few days it may cry at night: it's normal, it's in a new place.
Everything together, in a single order
To avoid buying things one by one, we have prepared the Puppy Welcome Pack: Gloria Quartz 50 x 40 cm bed, adjustable collar, rope toy, and dental ball. It ships from Spain and arrives in 1 to 3 business days, and it is cheaper than buying the items separately.
These tips are general. For vaccinations, nutrition, and health, what your veterinarian tells you always comes first.
